Lance Armstrong signs Levi Leipheimer to Team Shack

News - Sports Articles

Levi Leipheimer, the US cyclist, will reunite with Lance Armstrong after signing for the seven-time Tour de France winner's new RadioShack sponsored team.
Leipheimer, 35, confirmed he will join his former US Postal Service and Astana team-mate for RadioShack's inaugural season as a professional team on Tuesday after cycling's transfer window opened.
On a busy day that saw BMC Racing sign Alessandro Ballan and George Hincapie,

the world and US road race champions respectively, the capture of Leipheimer will have come as a boost for Armstrong who was expected to sign Hincapie, his former US Postal domestique.
Leipheimer, who was forced out of this year's Tour with a broken wrist after a fall, expects to be joined by some familiar faces at RadioShack: "We will see a lot of riders from Astana come over and one or two faces from the Discovery team too.
"Not everyone [from Astana] will go to Radio Shack but a lot will and we won the team time trial [at the 2009 Tour]; it shows the strength of the team and if you have aspirations and dreams of winning the Tour then you need to be on a team that strong.
"There were other possibilities, but I've signed with the best team in the world, an American team that's going to sign more American riders."
He also confirmed that he will target next year's Tour of California, the Dauphiné Libéré and Tour de France, once the season starts in Jan 2010.
"Those are my three favourites races and top my objectives for next year," he said.
Johan Bruyneel, Armstrong's directeur sportif at US Postal, Discovery and Astana, is expected to leave his current post at the Kazakh team, despite having another year on his contract, and join RadioShack.
Bruyneel, who has managed a record nine Tour victories, is "a master at building the best teams," according to Armstrong who also said "he'll be there" next season before RadioShack makes its debut at the Tour Down Under on Jan 17.
Confirmed RadioShack riders: Lance Armstrong (US), Levi Leipheimer (US), José Luis Rubiera (Spa), Sergio Paulinho (Por), Grégory Rast (Sui), Sebastien Rosseler (Bel), Tomas Vaitkus (Lit).

Creatine Supplements...

So, what is creatine? Our bodies naturally make the compound, which is used to supply energy to our muscles. It is produced in the liver, pancreas, and kidneys, and is transported to the body's muscles through the bloodstream. Once it reaches the muscles, it is converted into phosphocreatine (creatine phosphate). This high-powered metabolite is used to regenerate the muscles' ultimate energy source, ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
Unlike steroids or drugs, creatine is 100% natural and occurs naturally in many foods; therefore, it can never be banned from any sports or international competitions (unless they banned eating meat). Many foods especially herring, salmon, tuna, and beef contain some creatine. However, the very best source of creatine by far is creatine monohydrate because it contains more creatine per weight of material than any other source. sells only high quality 99.9% pure pharmaceutical-grade creatine monohydrate.

Nitric Oxide Supplements

1. What is it and where does it come from?
Nitric Oxide is a free form gas that is produced in the body and is used by the body to communicate with other cells in the body. To produce this gas, enzymes in the body break down the amino acid Arginine.

Nitric Oxide is a molecule consisting of one atom of nitrogen and one atom of oxygen. The production of Nitric Oxide occurs when the amino acid L-arginine is converted into L-citruline through an enzyme group known as Nitric Oxide Synthase (NOS). The chemical process of conversion is shown in figure 1.

Protein Supplements...

High protein diets, like Atkins Diet and South Beach, continue to gain in popularity among many dieters. Some athletes even use these diets and find they lose weight. Depending upon the type of athlete you are and what sort of sport you play, you might want to question the role of the high protein eating plan. Athletes should realize that much of the weight lost on these diets is a result of a decrease in total calories and the water loss that occurs with muscle glycogen depletion. If you perform high intensity or endurance training you probably know that glycogen depletion is one of the reasons athletes 'bonk' or 'hit the wall' in endurance competition. Without enough easy to access energy, in the form of glycogen, we simply run out of fuel.
