(April 29) - Scientists in Germany say the kind of plastic used to make water bottles may release chemicals that have the potential to disrupt estrogen and other reproductive hormones.

Some commercially produced water bottles may release chemicals that disrupt hormones? A German study found evidence of estrogenic compounds leaching out of the plastic packaging in commercially available mineral water. While the chemicals were found to impact the development of snail embryos, scientists said it's too soon to determine how they affect humans.
